Other blogs...

I enjoy reading other people's blogs...

• The most powerful force in the universe is gossip.
• You should not confuse your career with your life.
• People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.
• The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.
• No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.
• Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
• Never lick a steak knife.
• You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggest you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.
• There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age 11.
• If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."
• And when God, who created the entire universe with all of its glories, decides to deliver a message to humanity, He WILL NOT use, as His messenger, a person on cable TV with a bad hairstyle.
• A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.

Silence is NOT golden

So I've workin' my...well...I'll been working mighty hard lately. With the Holidays upon us all it makes it tough to get much of anything done - rest, fun, play, relaxation, fun, good times...did I mention fun?

I did manage to get out and buy a Christmas tree and decorate it. I enjoy pulling out the ornaments from over the years and thinking about Christmas' past. We also put up lights outside and our house looks quite festive. This is my wife's favorite holiday and she has tons of Christmas "stuff". I enjoy the holidays also, but with working so much it is tough to find the "spirit" of the holiday. The crowds, the traffic, the long lines and the lost meaning of Christmas tend to gnaw at me.
Like I've said to many people, Halloween is my favorite holiday. Why? Because there is no pressure. You can choose to be a part of it, or not and get away with either. Christmas (or holidays) are thrust upon us and if we choose not to be a part of things, we are considered a Scrooge. Not that I don't want to celebrate Christmas (or the holidays), but I don't like being forced to do anything I don't want to do.

OK...I'm done with my mini-rant.
