Beyond the Valley of the Barbarellatones CD

"Beyond the Valley of the Barbarellatones" is an eleven song romp from the glam-pop band The Barbarellatones. Fronted by former Sex with Lurch singer/songwriter Robbie Quine this CD is a mix infused with psychedelic surf rock, gothabilly and off kilter garage rock. The sounds are reminiscent of bands like Southern Culture on the Skids and The Cramps, but not as "ON". This CD is also heavily influenced by the likes of The New York Dolls, Brian Eno and David Bowie.

Suitable for a more adult crowd, I particularly enjoyed the track "Hellhound", but wouldn't recommend this for the younger crowd.
The production value is nice. The songs are mellow -n- slow, pretty weird and suited for a more "alternative" crowd. Overall the CD is an interesting listen and I found myself spacing out while listening to the CD, but was occasionally snapped out of it by the lyrics.
