My wife surprised the whole family by flying my college student home for the weekend. She walked him into the school gym while I was coaching my basketball team. I was so happy to see him. He's been gone since mid-August and we all miss him very much. This doesn't have anything to do with Halloween, but my weekend was spent with family and enjoying the company of my family and extended family.
At my daughter's urging, I finally opened my bag of Mother's Cookies Limited Batch Eerie Critters cookies. I grew up with Mother's Cookies and seeing Halloween branded frosted cookies was an easy sell.
The shapes didn't look anything like the packaging which gave us a laugh. The taste is classic and brings me back to my childhood. Circus Animal Cookies were always a favorite. Founded in Oakland, CA in 1914 Mother's Cookies made some of my favorite treats until they closed in 2008. They are now owned by the Ferrero Group, but it isn't from Oakland it's just not the same. If you see a bag and you remember the grand Circus Animal Cookie flavor I highly recommend this fun seasonal shape treat.Happy Haunting,

Happy for you on the family surprise. I love those cookies, too, but haven't seen the Halloween version - yet!
ReplyDeleteI didn't look for those cookies...they FOUND me. Strategic placement by the registers. So good.
