It's still too warm here in Northern California to stick my ghouls and fiends out in the yard. I've had a few things out since the first week of September, but I don't want to cook my Halloween props.
Last year was a fun year of decorating and I really enjoyed how the aesthetic came together. Everyone has their own vision when decorating for Halloween. Over the years my purchasing and sourcing has slowed down a lot.
I have to be thoughtful of what gets added to the mix since I only have so much room to store things. I'm not one of those haunters that feels that having a storage space is a good way to spend money. Plus, I only get maybe one trick or treater per year.We had some young families move into my neighborhood so I'm hoping this year I may get a few more kids up the stairs.
It's a hike. One of the many reasons I have my Pumpkinland Halloween Haunt CDs blaring. Lights, ghouls and music meant to entice the kids to come see what's been created at Pumpkinland. I hope we have a good turnout this year.
Happy Haunting,
Mark Harvey
