Proof that I am still a professional musician...October 3rd, 2025
It is true that I haven't make music for some time now. Not by choice (although everything in life is a choice, right?), but due to all that goes into life. I'm not complaining (really), but I do get a little melancholy when I think about how it was once very easy to find the time to write songs.
So every now and then I am asked if this "artist" thing is real...as in, do you still consider yourself a "musician"? And I pause usually and have to think about it, but then...almost right on queue, someone buys some of my music and I get that lovely Bandcamp email notification. For me it isn't about the payment (although that never hurts), but rather the confirmation that what I have done over the years is still worthy of purchase.
I support artists. I reach out and thank them for their work (although those messages are usually met with some curiosity as I try to be genuine and honest - which freaks people out). That's me though so...
I appreciate every download, every CD purchase and every email sent. It is the inspiration I need to get my studio back up and running. It is the magic that leads me back to creating music which is one of my favorite things to do on the planet.
Thank you to all who have supported me over the years. You'll never truly understand how meaningful it is to me.
So, have a listen to one of the tracks that was downloaded. It's a favorite of mine. And if you like it, please consider downloading some music to support this old musician.
Thanks for reading.
Mark Harvey
