October 4th

Greetings fiends and ghouls,

As I write this I am barely awake after spending a wonderful weekend with my family at Disneyland. This is a really great time of year to visit the park as they've got it festively decorated for Fall...for Halloween.

The last time I visited Disneyland in October was WAY back in 1996.  A lot has changed and some things have stayed the same.

20 years ago the walkways were lined with jack o' lanterns and there was low lying fog.  This year there "seemed" to be less in the way of Halloween decor around the park, but there was plenty of eye candy for me to absorb and enjoy.
Main Street had some great window displays and pumpkins adorning every balcony. I unfortunately didn't get shots of the windows at night (when they look the best).  There are also a TON of Halloween themed eats (mostly cookies and pastries).
Seeing Haunted Mansion Holiday again was fantastic and was very fun to enjoy with my family.  I hadn't been to Disneyland since the addition of The Hatbox Ghost so I was very excited to see him Also added to Haunted Mansion Holiday was Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

We saw Jack and Sally near the Pirates of the Caribbean, but didn't wait for photos or autographs,  This is a shot of where they meet and greet.
In Frontierland there were some great Day of the Dead displays.

In Tomorrowland Space Mountain was re-themed to Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.

We had a great trip to Disneyland this year and I'm hoping we can go back in a few years when the kids are a little older and stay a few more days.  This is the best time of the year to visit Disneyland (in my opinion).

Happy Haunting,

Mark Harvey
