October 12th...

Greetings and salutations,

One of my favorite things to do each October is to go to the pumpkin patch. This year my wife suggested that we go out to Joan's Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Livermore (here). I had never been out to this Pumpkin Patch so I thought it would be fun.

Joan's Farm is a great family friendly spot - located at 4351 Mines Road in Livermore, CA - Joan's is open October 1st - 31st - Daily 9 - 6.

There's lots to do including a Maze, an Old West Town, a Hay Ride, Farm Animals, Gem Panning, an Antique Museum, Pumpkins, Gourds, Indian Corn, Corn Stalks, Straw Bales, Nuts, Refreshments and a Gift Shop.
After taking a tons of photos and sizing up many, many pumpkins we picked out two huge pumpkins to bring home and even though they're more expensive than what you'd find at the local supermarket it is great to support family farms and places that create such a wonderful environment.
Seeing fields full of pumpkins makes me so happy.
Of course their Pumpkin Land sign got me thinking about Halloween music and that I should have brought a CD to give to the folks there.

I've tried to purchase pumpkinland.com for years, but an orchard in Pennsylvania owns it.  Seems that many farms use the term "Pumpkin Land".

Speaking of Pumpkinland...
Happy Haunting!
