October 19th...
Greetings and salutations,
After last Halloween season I found the "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Game". I didn't open it up until this past weekend and the kids and I had fun playing the game.
The game is simple - a five year old can play it.
You pick one of four characters. Your "non-costumed" piece is what you start with. There is Lucy, Sally, Snoopy and Charlie Brown.
The youngest starts the game, spins and you're off in search of candy and you're costume.
You need to land on your "house" and get into costume. As you traverse the board you Trick or Treat to collect five candy cards. Once you've got your costume on and the five candy cards you can get back to the Great Pumpkin patch. First one back wins.
As you Trick or Treat there are things that can delay or speed up your progress. Getting rocks means you have to give up one candy you have accumulated - that card goes back into the stack. If you get quarters, you can buy candy off an opponent or if no one has any you get another spin. Getting the invitation to the Halloween party card lets you skip the candy collection part of the game and once you have your costume you're off to the Great Pumpkin's pumpkin patch.
Once you've got your costume on, have five candy cards or the invitation you can spin your way back on the green path toward the pumpkin patch. You have to spin the exact number to get back into the patch.
We played a couple games and had a great time.
Happy Haunting!
